Hunger and chronic malnutrition are on the rise in Zimbabwe, the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs has said that the condition is really bad. The ministry is working in conjunction with the nutrition cluster of organisations in the country that include UN Children’s Fund, International Organisation for Migration, Goal, World Vision, the World Food Programme and Plan International. The condition is very miserable there. It is a matter of deep concern for the government and it is very necessary to curb this problem of malnutrition and related issues, as soon as possible.
Prices sojourn partially high for family groups with low incomes and small or no access to US dollars, notwithstanding the softened accessibility of food. The Zimbabwean dollar was dropped in 2009 as a answer to hyperinflation, and transposed by currencies such as the US dollar, South African rand and Botswana pula, but stagnation levels are exceedingly high and many people do not have access to these currencies. Mugove who is a sufferer told that bringing food home is such a large headache. He has not visited a hospital and was suggested by the helper to record is to e-voucher food benefit programme at Harare Hospital nearby low-income suburbs southwest of the capital.

The programme supports about 5,000 patients and their family groups with necessary food items and is operating at 7 illness services in the funds and has been lengthened to the second-largest city, Bulawayo. Catholic Relief Services and Help from Germany are the implementing NGO allies using the illness ministry. It may sound ironical but the first priority of them is not to obtain healthful food, but only any food that can expand their stomachs. Patients are given vouchers, in the form of graze cards similar to mobile phone airtime cards, that they take to directed towards sell outlets for definite rations that are “good for a month and for a limit family size of 5 people”, in add-on to 10kg of corn soya merge they take at registration. The rations consist of maize-meal, beans and unfeeling oil and beneficiaries take the food assist for 6 months but that time is lengthened if they are still malnourished. This help can bring good news for those people who are malnourished. It is indeed an acute problem and the officials are trying their level best to cub it.
